Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Volusia Pines Elementary school, and a big welcome to our first PTA website!! This year more then any other year it is important that you check out this website regularly, as well as following us on Facebook at Volusia Pines PTA. There will be a lot of important information for Parents, Teachers, & Students on this 2 sites. We would also love for you to join our PTA it is $5.00 to join the PTA. You might wonder where or why should I join the PTA, I have included some information below to help you understand what it is the PTA does and where the money goes.

Why Should You Join The PTA:

• Children Benefit – Research shows that children perform better when parents are engaged in education both at HOME and SCHOOL. By joining the PTA, your child will see first hand the importance you place on education.
• Schools Benefit – PTA provides support to administrators and teachers. We strive to create a positive and caring atmosphere in the school. Also, we address issues both important to parents and public school administrators. The PTA partners with a variety of programs that help enhance the schools.
• Make Connections – Your involvement in with-in the PTA helps you stay connected and allows you to gain a broader perspective of how you can play a supportive role. You also make connections with other parents, and business partners that share a common goal of student achievement.
• It’s Good For You – Volunteering with your PTA allows you to contribute your skills and knowledge for the benefit of not only your child but for the community.

 Where Does Your Money Go?

Throughout the year your PTA membership sponsors many events for the students at Volusia Pines, including…

• Welcome Back breakfast for Teachers and Staff
• Teacher Grants for classroom supplies
• Trunk-or-Treat Fall Festival
• Holiday Shop
• Winter Family Fun Night
• Kona Ice
• Stem Day
• Field Day
• Fifth Grade Graduation
• Movie Nights
• Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
• Spring Carnival
• Learning Incentives for the Students – Nearpod challenge during winter break is an example of one.

We cannot do this without the support of our members.  Please join the PTA and show support for your school.  Help us make a difference in the lives of our children. Don’t forget to show your PANTHER PRIDE by wearing your SPIRIT  shirt every Friday.

T- Shirts can be ordered by either asking your teacher for a T-Shirt order form or you can e-mail us letting us know that your child needs a shirt. We take Cash, and Checks made out to Volusia Pines PTA (if for any reason a check doesn’t clear you will be charged the $15.00 fine for it not clearing). NEW this year we can now accept Credit Card payments for T-shirts and PTA Membership. That can be done through https://vpe-pta.square.site/ .
